Careers Chat on board Princess Cruises

Last month, in collaboration with Princess Cruises and ABP, we welcomed Tourism degree students to the Port of Southampton and on board the Emerald Princess, a Princess Cruise ship.

Fay Draper, ABP Cruise Manager, shared her career journey, beginning with her college days and ending with her work on cruise ships and now as a key member of the ABP Cruise Operations Team.

Katie Bruce took the opportunity to promote wider career opportunities across the sector, including logistics, marine, cruise, and ferry operations.

The feedback from the students was really positive as it offered students an honest and engaging career chat and the opportunity to get hands-on experience on a cruise ship which they may in the future work on, promote, sell, maintain, fix, manage, or be the Captain on board! We are following up with Princess Cruises to discuss future opportunities.
