Shaping the Future Workforce: Maritime & Transport Careers Programme at SEF

Recently, along with ABP and Carnival UK, we were recently invited to speak at the Southampton Education Forum (SEF), hosted at Solent University. This important event brought together senior leaders from 20 schools and colleges across the Southampton area, each representing an average of over 1,000 students.

During the one-hour session, we introduced educators to the wide range of career opportunities available in the maritime and transport sectors, including shipping, logistics, port operations, marine engineering, and sustainable transport innovation. Our goal was to equip schools with the knowledge and inspiration needed to guide their students toward rewarding careers in our industry.

This event was a great opportunity for us to build relationships within education to increase a future-ready talent pipeline that recognises the value, diversity, and innovation within our sector.

What are the next steps with the SEF?

We are looking forward to supporting these schools and their curriculum areas to promote careers that are available locally.
